Alyssa Naeher, originally from Bridgeport, CT, joined the Red Stars in 2016 via a trade with the Boston Breakers. That year Naeher won Player of the Month, Player of the Week and Save of the Week honors, and earned a league-high six clean sheets for the season. Since 2017, Naeher has started and played in 72 matches for the Red Stars, including multiple semi-final matches, a finals match against North Carolina and the 2020 Challenge Cup Final against Houston. Her international experience includes multiple starts for the United States Women’s National Team, including two FIFA Women’s World Cup Championships and a Bronze medal at the Tokyo Olympics. Naeher attended Penn State University.
