Nagasato gets her first goal, Kerr scores a brace
CHICAGO – Three separate Chicago Red Stars players contributed to their team’s scoresheets in Round 6 of Australia’s W-League.
Last Thursday Katie Naughton, Nikki Stanton, Sam Kerr and Alyssa Mautz led Perth Glory against Adelaide United. For Mautz it was a matchup against her former W-League team, and she made them pay with an assist to Kerr to equalize the game for Perth. Mautz’s cross found Kerr’s head, who rose above the defenders to score. Kerr wasn’t finished, however, as she scored her second goal of the game to give her team the lead.

Unfortunately for Kerr and company, Adelaide would equalize in the 79th minute after Mautz left Perth down a player after getting her second yellow card of the game and being sent off. The game would end in a 2-2 draw.
Recently signee Arin Wright wasn’t on the team sheet when her Newcastle Jets suffered a 3-1 defeat against current league leaders Melbourne City FC.
Yuki Nagasato’s Brisbane Roar took on Danielle Colaprico’s Sydney FC. While it was Colaprico’s side who were victorious, it was Nagasato who scored her maiden goal for Brisbane. Her goal in the 25th minute was the team’s lone score in a 5-1 defeat.

After dropping points against Adelaide, Perth Glory sits at second place with nine points in second place, trailing leaders Melbourne Victory by four points. Nagasato and Brisbane sit in sixth with seven points, and right behind them are Sydney FC and Newcastle Jets respectively each with six points.
It will be Colaprico and Sydney FC who kick off Round 7 action on Thursday against Adelaide. Perth Glory will take on Newcastle Jets while Brisbane play league leaders Melbourne Victory, with both games taking place on Saturday.
