U.S. Women’s National Team Begins Knockout Rounds

CHICAGO – After a historic performance in the group stages, the U.S. Women’s National Team secured first place in Group F and a spot in the Round of 16 to try and defend their World Cup title against Spain. The match kicks off today at 11 am C.T. on Fox Sports 1 and Telemundo.

The two countries have never faced off against each other in the Women’s World Cup and have only faced off once before. In the first-ever matchup between the U.S. WNT and Spain in January 2019, the United States would secure a 1-0 win when Christen Press scored.

Four Red Stars will look to help the U.S. WNT advance to the quarterfinals of the World Cup with a win over Spain. Morgan Brian, Tierna Davidson, Julie Ertz, and Alyssa Naeher have all earned minutes in this World Cup cycle.
