Casey Short Called Up to U.S. WNT Roster

CHICAGO — Chicago Red Stars defender Casey Short has been called up to the U.S. WNT roster for their upcoming Victory Tour friendly against South Korea on Sunday, October 6 at Soldier Field.

Short has made 29 career appearances for the U.S. WNT. Her most recent appearance came in the previous international camp when she was called up to the roster for two friendlies against Portugal. She played 46 minutes in a 3-0 victory on September 3rd.

Short made NWSL history on Thursday when she was named to the league’s Team of the Month for September. She is the only player in league history to feature on every Team of the Month squad throughout a season. Short has two goals and three assists on the year and has been a consistently outstanding player for a Chicago Red Stars team that finished second in the NWSL regular-season standings.

The Naperville native, Short and the U.S. WNT take on South Korea this Sunday, October 6 at Soldier Field. Kickoff is scheduled for 1pm CT.
