Chicago, Il. – The Chicago Red Stars have unveiled a special third kit for the 2013 season that will be worn on the 4th of July matchup against the WNY Flash. It will be the first time the Chicago Red Stars have appeared in an all-red jersey top. The limited-edition tops the players wear during the game will be part of a silent-auction to take place in-game.

The Nike jerseys will feature the same look as the Red Stars other 2013 kits, with the traditional 4-stars of the City of Chicago flag and Red Stars logo, along with the patch of team partner Illinois Women’s Soccer League.

The silent auction will take place during the match and fans can place bids in person for a chance to take one of these limited-edition tops home and meet the player behind the jersey. Bids start at $75 and any fans not able to attend are able to place an absentee bid by emailing their highest bid, along with the player’s jersey desired to [email protected] by Noon CT on Wednesday, July 3rd. All Red Stars players’ jerseys will be available for bid, including the team’s goalkeepers, who will be wearing their traditional black long-sleeved tops.
