Red Stars take on Houston Dash in Match to Set Playoff Positioning

A new chapter in Chicago Red Stars history will be written this weekend when they take on the Houston Dash at Toyota Park in Bridgeview, IL on Sunday, September 6^th at 4pm.  It’s not just their regular season finale, there’s also an even bigger opportunity at stake.  A combination of World Cup stars and battle-proven roster players lead the Red Stars’ charge toward not just a win, but their first ever appearance in the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) playoffs.  While their ultimate opponent will not be known until sometime this weekend, the bottom line is simple:  A win secures home field advantage for your Chicago Red Stars in the first round of the NWSL Playoffs.

Highlighting the star studded match, where fans will actually be able to get their picture taken with the Women’s World Cup Trophy, US Women’s National Team (USWNT) members Christen Press, Julie Johnston and Lori Chalupny lead the Red Stars against the Dash, led by fellow USWNT members Carli Lloyd, Meghan Klingenberg, and Morgan Brian.

Ultimately, the Red Stars will take on the Dash in front of their largest devoted crowd of the year as the fans enjoy a full menu of game day festivities, including:

Free Parking and Tailgating:  Parking for this game at Toyota Park is FREE and the lot will open at 12 Noon for those interested in tailgating!

Interactive Fan Zone, Including the Women’s World Cup Trophy:  From 2pm to 3:30pm, fans can line up to have their photos taken with the Women’s World Cup Trophy.  They will also be able to take pictures with life-size cutouts of US World Cup Red Stars!  Additional games and exhibits from the Red Stars Academy, Body Armor, NONGSHIM America, and Hope for the Day.

Post Game Autograph Session:  Red Stars players will sign autographs fieldside as the field is prepared for the following BONUS GAME.

Bonus Big 10 Soccer Match:  Kicking off at 6:15pm, the Northwestern University women’s soccer team will take on Missouri in a Big 10 Matchup.  Red Stars ticket holders are able to take in this game at no additional cost!
