CHICAGO The Red Stars Reserves kept the winning streak alive as they defeated Milwaukee Torrent (3-0), Dakota Fusion FC (2-0) and Chicago City SC (5-0) this past week.

During the first match up, despite no goals in the first half, Chicago was able to maintain possession of the ball the entire time, giving goalkeeper Mackenzie Wood a good showcase with a tip-over-the-net save for the recent high school grad.

Minutes into the second half, Jo Boyles’ corner kick found its way into the back of the net after a poor clearance by the Milwaukee goalkeeper, giving the first goal of the match.

Midfielder Emily Wauer kept the ball rolling and scored the next goal by herself after breaking through defense to strike one past the keeper. Two minutes later, Megan Buckingham set up a shot for Erin Yenney, which allowed Yenney to strike the ball past a diving goalkeeper, giving Chicago the final score.

On their first road trip, the Reserves earned a 2-0 victory against Dakota Fusion FC.

Reserves midfielder Dominique Randle saw an opportunity in the first half after a perfect cross from Tamae Douglas, scoring her first goal to give Chicago the lead. Later in the match, Douglas found herself on the other end, scoring the final 2-0 scoreline for the Reserves.

The Red Stars Reserves took on the newest Chicago WPSL team, the Chicago City SC, defeating the neighboring club 5-0.

Halfway through the first half, Bri Visalli notched the opening goal for Chicago, while minutes later, Alexa Ben widened the scoreline. Just before halftime, Ashton Miller found herself giving the Reserves a 3-0 lead into the second 90 minutes.

Minutes into the second half, Yenney earned the fourth goal off a perfectly weighted ball from Miller. With an unfortunate touch, Chicago City SC was awarded a penalty kick midway through the half.

Recent high school graduate goalkeeper Mackenzie Wood faced her first threat of the match, reading correctly and making a spectacular diving save. Just before the match concluded, Ben completed her brace.

The Red Stars Reserves hold a 5-0 record this season, outscoring opponents 29-0. Chicago will hit the road again this Saturday, June 16, to take on Minnesota TwinStars in their second match up. Kickoff will begin at 5:00 p.m. CT.
