Fitness application helps prevent injury, maximize performance and development
Chicago, Illinois – The Chicago Red Stars announced today that they have renewed their partnership with the soccer-specific fitness web application Fit For 90. The agreement sees the collaboration, which began in June of 2014 and lasted through the remainder of the NWSL season, extended to the end of the club’s 2015 campaign.
Fit For 90 develops customized periodization and monitoring for teams at the youth, collegiate, and professional levels. The web application individualizes team planning to maximize player performance and development, and to prevent injury. Additional information may be found here.
As an official Red Stars partner, Fit For 90 has been working with the coaching staff to create a training plan that aligns with individual and team goals and which accounts for the individual player’s physical capacity each day. Fit For 90’s player monitoring system tracks player readiness, muscle soreness, and training load to help the Red Stars prevent injuries and manage player recovery.
“Having worked with our customized periodization plan put together by Dr. John Cone, I can honestly say it has prompted us to rethink and adjust our approach to each session,” said Chicago Head Coach Rory Dames. “We have no doubt benefited from partnering with Fit For 90.”
The excitement is shared by Fit For 90 Co-Founder Cone.
“We are looking forward to working with the Chicago Red Stars again in 2015,” he said. “The Red Stars partnership truly shows their dedication to player performance, and injury prevention.”
The Chicago Red Stars look to earn their fourth win in five NWSL fixtures when they take on hosts Houston Dash on Friday, May 15. The club’s next home match is on June 20 against Washington Spirit.
