Chicago will host Portland on March 31
CHICAGO – The Chicago Red Stars will begin its 12-home game stretch at Toyota Park on Saturday, March 31, combining with Major League Soccer (MLS) side Chicago Fire for a double header. Both teams will host their Portland counterparts.
“We’re excited to bring the first ever ‘City Smackdown’ with Chicago vs. Portland soccer,” said Red Stars owner Arnim Whisler. “Fans can watch the men’s and women’s pro teams from Chicago defend their turf against the playoff Portland teams.”
The Red Stars will take on Portland Thorns FC at 7:15 p.m. CT, following the Chicago Fire and Portland Timbers at 5 p.m. CT. The game will be broadcast live for both U.S. (NWSLsoccer.com, go90 app), and international (NWSL app, NWSLsoccer.com) fans.
Tickets for the doubleheader will go on sale through the Fire and Red Stars on Wednesday, February 21 at 11 a.m. CT. You can purchase group tickets (10+) by calling the Red Stars office at 773.697.8699 for tickets at a discounted rate.

Chicago will start off its regular season the week prior in Houston on Sunday, March 25, at 4 p.m. CT to take on the Dash for the third-straight season opener at BBVA Compass Stadium.

Fans wishing to use the Pub To Pitch through the Chicago Fire and watch both matches can RSVP for the return bus back to Chicago by emailing [email protected] by Tuesday, March 27. Fans on the late bus, which leaves 20 minutes after the final whistle, will have stops at Cleos and The Globe Pub.
