SERIES HISTORY: The match between Chicago and Washington marks the first time the two teams will face off in 2017. The two teams played each other in the 2016 NWSL Playoffs, where Washington beat Chicago in overtime, 1-2. Havana Solaun has scored three goals to lead the Spirit attack, with Pugh, Kristie Mewis and Francisca Ordega, totaling five goals and three assists. However, the team has Canadian goalkeeper, Stephanie Labbe, who leads the league in saves (38) and has been pushed to come up in big situations.
RED STARS MILESTONES: Alyssa Mautz currently sits at 93 appearances for the Red Stars and will look to reach number 100 this season.
LEADING THE NWSL: Red Stars midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo is tied for the lead in assists (16) for all active players in NWSL. The previous two seasons, DiBernardo has finished second overall in the league in assists.
