The Facts: Chicago vs. Orlando

GAME INFO: Watch Chicago take on Orlando on Saturday, July 1, at 4 p.m. CT. Fans can watch the match live on the go90 app or NWSLsoccer.com.

SERIES HISTORY: The match between Chicago and Orlando Pride marks the first time the two teams have faced in 2017. After joining the league last season, the two clubs have only gone head-to-head twice, with Chicago taking wins on both occasions. In the first match, the Red Stars blanked the Pride with a goal from Christen Press. On the road, Chicago saw Taylor Comeau enter her second game for the Red Stars, scoring a header for the game-winning goal off a cross from Sofia Huerta.

SCOUTING ORLANDO:  Orlando enters the match with a 4-4-3 record after a huge three points on the road against Sky Blue FC. The Pride are led by Brazilian international, Marta, who is second in the league in goals (6) and accounts for nearly one-third of the team’s goals. Defensively, the Pride has struggled to earn a shutout, managing just one this season. Orlando lost their captain, Ashlyn Harris, for six to eight weeks due to a right quad injury, but have notched a record of 3-1-0 with veteran defender Ali Krieger leading the young squad. The backline, along with backup goalkeeper Audrey Bledsoe, will look to contain the offensive threat of Christen Press and Sofia Huerta.

RED STARS MILESTONES: Alyssa Mautz currently sits at 96 overall appearances for the Red Stars.

LEADING THE NWSL: Red Stars midfielder Vanessa DiBernardo is tied for the lead in assists (16) for all active players in NWSL. The previous two seasons, DiBernardo has finished second in assists overall.

TOP-NOTCH GOALKEEPERS: During the 2016 season, with the combination of goalkeepers Alyssa Naeher and Michele Dalton, Chicago only allowed 22 goals. Alyssa Naeher currently has allowed eleven goals, which is tied for second fewest allowed in the NWSL.

NEXT MATCH: Chicago is currently on their longest road trip of the season, with one of four games down that is spanned over 15 days. The Red Stars head to Boston next to take on the Breakers on Saturday, July 7 at 6 p.m. CT.
