CHICAGO –Chicago Red Stars forwards Sam Kerr and Yuki Nagasato and defender Katie Naughton were named to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Team of the Month for July. This is Nagasato’s second-consecutive Team of the Month honor, while July is the first month multiple Red Stars have been named.

In July, Kerr tallied four goals and added one assist. During the month, Kerr recorded her 50th goal, a milestone only she holds in the NWSL. Two goals deemed game winners during the 1-3 victory against Sky Blue FC and the 1-0 victory against Seattle Reign FC.

Nagasato notched two goals and three assists during the month. All assists were finished by Kerr, proving a dynamic duo partnership in Chicago’s attack.

Naughton played all four matches, helping seal a 3-0-1 record in July. Naughton and the Chicago backline had the lowest goal against average (0.30) for the month.

The Red Stars are back in action on Friday, August 10 for their Fan Appreciation game. The match will kick off at 6:30 p.m. CT at Toyota Park. Tickets are available here.
