With two wins in their last five games, Sky Blue are currently in eighth place in the NWSL with 16 points. Sky Blue’s most recent game was against the North Carolina Courage. Sky Blue fell behind in the first minute but were able to rally and equalize the game through a Carli Lloyd penalty kick. However, it was the Courage who got the last laugh as Crystal Dunn’s goal in the 57th minute sealed a 2-1 win for North Carolina.

This will be the final game Sky Blue FC and the Red Stars will meet this regular season. Chicago hosted the first matchup between these two teams in June. Rookie Paige Monaghan scored one of her two goals in the 71st minute, but Sam Kerr tied the game up at 1 in the 91st minute. Two minutes after Sam’s goal, Sky Blue responded by Monaghan scored her second goal of the game in the 93rd minute to give Sky Blue the 2-1 victory.
