CHICAGO — The Chicago Red Stars look to get back in the win column on Sunday, June 2 against Portland Thorns FC at Providence Park. Here’s what you need to know about the upcoming opponent:

Midge Purce’s goal in the 69th minute was the difference maker for the Thorns in the 1-0 win against Sky Blue FC on Saturday. With the win, Portland is in third place with 11 points. In their first six games of the season, Portland has a record of 3-1-2. Eight different players have scored at least one goal for Portland this season.

New faces:

Due to players being away on national team duty, new faces have emerged for the Thorns. Goalkeeper Britt Eckerstrom is coming off a clean sheet, taking over starting goalkeeper duties for the Thorns.
