Ella Masar to Go on Loan to Danish Side B93/HIK/Skjold

Chicago, Il. – Chicago Red Stars forward Ella Masar is set to go on loan to Danish side B93/HIK/Skjold of the Danish 3F League until November 5, 2013.

The 27 year-old appeared in 20 matches for the Red Stars this season and tallied 3 goals and 2 assists. She was originally drafted out of college by the Red Stars in 2009 and competed with the team in WPS through 2010. Masar is no stranger to playing overseas, having previously played in Norway and France.

“With two of my siblings getting married this fall I didn’t think I’d have a chance to play overseas,” stated Masar of the loan.B93/HIK/Skjold is a club where I know I will improve as a player and hopefully help the team fight for a top spot in the league.”

“I can not think of a better situation for me to be in for this short period of time and am excited to see what Copenhagen is all about.”

B93/HIK/Skjold is currently in 3rd place in the league. Of the 8 total teams, six will end up in a playoff for the league championship.

Masar will see a familiar face there, as it is home to former WPS-Red Stars assistant coach Denise Reddy.
