The Chicago Red Stars head to New Jersey to end the Olympic break to take on Sky Blue FC on Saturday, August 27 at 6 PM (Central).

SERIES HISTORY: The match-up between the Chicago Red Stars and Sky Blue FC on Saturday marks the 10^th meeting of the two clubs in NWSL. The two teams have faced off once in 2016, drawing 1-1 at Toyota Park. Sofia Huerta scored the lone goal for the Red Stars off a perfect through ball from Danielle Colaprico. Overall, Chicago has failed to lose in NWSL play to New Jersey and will look to continue this streak on Saturday.

SCOUTING SKY BLUE FC: Already tied with their total amount of points in 2015, Sky Blue has skyrocketed to a team that is in playoff contention for 2016. Sky Blue has been able to find a balance offensively with Leah Galton, Tasha Kai and Sarah Killion all finding the back of the net three times. However, the problem lies on the defensive side for New Jersey, allowing 20 goals. The team should see a boost from Kelley O’Hara though, as she returns to her club after capping in all four games for the United States in the Olympics.

PLAYOFF RACE MATCH: The Red Stars and Sky Blue head into Saturday’s match battling for fourth place in the league with 25 and 22 points, respectively. A win this weekend would see Chicago leapfrog Western New York for third place in the standings. However, if Chicago is to lose this weekend, Sky Blue would be tied with the Red Stars for the final playoff spot.

RED STARS MILESTONES: With an appearance in Saturday’s match, Vanessa DiBernardo will have played in 40 consecutive matches for the Red Stars. To find the last match DiBernardo did not play in you have to go back to her rookie year on July 26, 2014, when the Red Stars faced the Houston Dash.

YOUNG SQUAD: The Red Stars have one of the youngest rosters in the league, with a combined average age of 24.25, with 10 players 23 years old or younger. Alyssa Naeher, 28, is the oldest player for Chicago, while rookie Courtney Raetzman is the youngest at 22.

NO PLACE LIKE HOME: The Chicago Red Stars remain the last team in NWSL to have not lost a match at home in the 2016 season. With an overall record of 4-0-3 when playing at Toyota Park, the Red Stars have fully adapted to the pitch at their new stadium. Despite allowing 13 goals so far in 2016, the Red Stars have only conceded two of those at Toyota Park, while scoring 8.
