CHICAGO – The Chicago Red Stars today announced a one-year agreement with CJ Wilson Mazda, naming the Chicago-based dealership the “Presenting Partner” of the team for their 2014 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season.
CJ Wilson Mazda, located in Countryside, Illinois, is the largest Mazda dealership in Illinois and is owned by Major League all-star pitcher CJ Wilson. Wilson’s passion for cars led him to start a dealership that “does things the right way.”
“Becoming the ‘Presenting Partner’ of the Red Stars was a no-brainer,” says Eric Vates, General Manager of CJ Wilson Mazda. “We both take pride in Chicago and try to be the best at what we do.”
As the presenting team partner of the Red Stars, CJ Wilson Mazda will have their logo placed prominently on the front of the Red Stars home and away jerseys for the 2014 season. Additional partnership elements will be activated throughout the year, including a CJ Wilson Mazda title night at a Red Stars home game.
“Aligning the Red Stars with a well-known local brand that also happens to be owned by a professional athlete gives our organizations a natural synergy,“ said Red Stars General Manager Alyse LaHue. “We are thrilled to present them on our 2014 jerseys and to share many exciting activation elements with fans throughout the season.”
The Chicago Red Stars open their 2014 season at Toyota Park on Saturday, April 19 at 5:45pm CT against Abby Wambach and Western New York Flash. The team then returns to its home stadium, Village of Lisle – Benedictine University Sports Complex, on April 26 at 7pm CT.
