Chicago, Ill. – The Chicago Red Stars officially opened its 2016 preseason training today, Monday, March 14 in preparation of the 2016 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) season. Over the course of the coming weeks, Head Coach Rory Dames and his staff will look to narrow down the group of talented players to a 20-player roster.
Plenty of familiar faces will be returning to the Red Stars, including U.S. Women’s National Team players Julie Johnston and Christen Press, along with 2015 NWSL Rookie of the Year Danielle Colaprico. Fellow U.S. National Team member Alyssa Naeher joins the Red Stars after being acquired via trade during the off-season.
