Chicago Pending Trade Leaves Players Unavailable for Tonight’s Match

Comeau, Huerta, Johnson and Kaskie all unavailable

CHICAGO – Due to a pending trade involving the Chicago Red Stars, defenders Samantha Johnson and Taylor Comeau, along with forward Sofia Huerta will be unavailable for today’s game against Portland Thorns in the NWSL Game of the Week on ESPNEWS.

Furthermore, the Red Stars have waived midfielder Lauren Kaksie. Chicago picked up Kaskie in the final round of the 2017 NWSL College Draft. Kaskie started two of seven matches in her rookie campaign. In her sophomore season, Kaskie found the field six times, while starting three. Kaskie scored her first professional goal in the 3-0 victory against Houston Dash on April 18.

Additional details will be provided following approval from the NWSL League Office.
