Chicago Hosts Houston in Midweek Match

CHICAGO – The Red Stars look to earn their first home victory of the new season during a midweek match against the Dash on Wednesday, April 18. Kickoff is set for 6:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on the NWSL app and the go90 app.

Chicago and Houston started their three-game series during opening week, where the Red Stars found a come-from-behind goal to steal a point on the road. Despite being down at the half, the Red Stars salvaged the match with a Taylor Comeau goal in second-half stoppage time for a 1-1 draw. Comeau’s goal was her first of the season and her second of her Chicago career.

The Red Stars are coming off its first win of the season against Utah Royals FC. Danielle Colaprico’s volley from outside the 18-yard box was the only difference in the 1-0 victory on the road. Forwards Stephanie McCaffrey and Yuki Nagasato entered their first game of the season after being out due to illness and injury.

After the FIFA international break, the Dash gained extra time off with a bye in Week 3 play.

Prior to their bye week, Houston battled to a scoreless draw against Utah Royals FC. The Dash earned just 34% of possession in the match, while Utah tallied six shots on goal to Houston’s zero.

The Red Stars will turn right around and host Carli Lloyd and Sky Blue FC on Saturday, April 21, at Toyota Park. Kickoff is set for 7:00 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on the NWSL app and the go90 app. Tickets are available here.
