Match Preview:

CHICAGO – The Red Stars will face the Seattle Reign in their first of a three-game home stretch, finishing its 12-game home series. Kickoff will be Saturday, July 14, at 7 p.m. CT. The match will be broadcast live on the NWSL app and the go90 app.

Chicago just came off a three-game week, setting a 2-1-0 record for the matches. Most recently, forward Sam Kerr led the Red Stars to a 3-1 victory again Sky Blue FC. Her hat trick brought multiple records for the Aussie, becoming the first NWSL player to score 50 goals. She also took over the lead for most goals this season (8) and earned a NWSL record of three hat tricks in her career.

Seattle has continued a four-game undefeated streak, winning it’s last three matches. In a mid-week match, the Reign defeated Utah Royals FC 1-0. U.S. Women’s National Team midfielder Megan Rapinoe notched the game-winning goal, adding to the league’s second-best seven goals this season. Rapinoe has the most shots on the season with 54, while Kerr just trails behind at 52.

The Red Stars last met the Reign in Seattle in May. In a relatively equal match, the game ended in a 0-0 stalemate. Chicago edged one more shot on Seattle, but both teams put up four shots on goal. Seattle remains just two spots above the Red Stars in second place.

The Red Stars will enter a Bye Week next weekend and will return to action on Saturday, July 28, at 7:00 p.m. CT at Toyota Park.
