Red Stars currently hold 5th and 8th overall picks
CHICAGO, Ill. – The Chicago Red Stars look to add some of the nation’s most promising prospects in the 2015 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) College Draft, to be held on Friday, January 16, at the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Convention in Philadelphia.

The draft will take place at the Pennsylvania Convention Center and will be open to the public and media. Fans will also be able to follow on www.NWSLsoccer.com, on Twitter (@NWSL and @ChicagoRedStars) and on the NWSL and Chicago Red Stars Facebook pages.
The Red Stars are poised to add some of the best available talent to their roster, as they currently hold two first-round picks (5th and 8th overall) as well as a pair of picks in the third round and one pick in the fourth round. The latest order for the 2015 NWSL College Draft can be found here.
In the first round of the draft’s 2014 edition, Chicago selected Vanessa DiBernardo and U.S. international Julie Johnston. While DiBernardo started 19 of her 23 appearances with the Red Stars this past season, Johnston was in the first eleven for all of her 21 matches and took home NWSL Rookie of the Year honors. In 2013, midfielder Zakiya Bywaters went to Chicago via the first overall pick. The Red Stars are the only NWSL club to have signed all of their college draft selections in the previous two seasons. Those selections include Rachel Quon, Taylor Vancil, Jen Hoy and Hayley Brock.
