The Chicago Red Stars have signed restricted free agent, Camryn Biegalski, to a one-year contract with a mutual option. Biegalski is a former Red Star and Lombard, Illinois native.
“I’m super excited to be back with the Red stars representing my home city! The organization is doing so many amazing things that I’m thrilled to be a part of, and I can’t wait to get to work,” said Biegalski.
“The Red Stars are happy to welcome a Chicagoland native back home,” said Red Stars president, Karen Leetzow. “Camryn’s experience with the Spirit – including being part of their 2021 championship team – will certainly make our roster deeper and help us be competitive this season.”
Biegalski is a defender that joins the Red Stars from the Washington Spirit. The defender spent three seasons with the Spirit making 54 appearances and 28 starts across all competitions. In 2023, Biegalski started in every Challenge Cup match she appeared in, including in the Spirit’s match against New Jersey/New York Gotham FC in July when the defender scored her first National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) goal.
Prior to joining the Spirit, Biegalski played for the Chicago Red Stars who drafted the defender in the second round of the 2020 NWSL Draft. As a Red Star, Biegalski played in three matches, starting in two, in the 2020 NWSL Fall Series. Over those three matches Biegalski accumulated a 70% successful pass rating.
