Red Stars Sign Midfielder Chardonnay Curran

The Chicago Red Stars have signed midfielder, Chardonnay Curran, to a two-year contract running through the 2025 National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL), season.

“I’m thankful for the opportunity that the Red Stars are giving to me, and I’m excited about the vision that the new ownership and staff have for this next year,” said Curran. “I’m grateful to be a part of that vision, and I cannot wait to get to work with my new teammates to do what it takes to bring championships to Chicago for the most important people, the fans!”

Curran joins the Red Stars from the Kansas City Current where the midfielder spent two seasons after being drafted 17th overall in the 2022 NWSL Draft by the Current from the University of Oregon. In her rookie campaign, Curran played 17 matches for Kansas City across the regular season and playoffs. In 2023 the midfielder played in 13 matches for the Current and scored a goal in an international friendly match against C.F. Monterrey Femenil of the Mexican Liga MX Femenil. The Hawaii native holds the record for both matches played and consecutive matches played (92) for the University of Oregon and finished her career with the Ducks with seven goals and seven assists.

The Chicago Red Stars acquired Chardonnay Curran’s playing rights from the Kansas City Current via the end-of-season waiver wire process.
