Despite a promising first half, the Chicago Red Stars were unable to stave off the Kansas City Current attack and fell 4-0 in the club’s third UKG Challenge Cup match. The team heads back to Chicago for a rematch against Portland Thorns FC Sunday, June 18, at SeatGeek Stadium.

• Tonight marked Addie McCain’s first start and appearance in a Red Stars jersey. The midfielder makes her debut with the club against her former team, Kansas City 
• Kayla Sharples played her first big minutes tonight since coming off of the season-ending injury list. The defender won the most tackles for the Red Stars, had a shot on goal and outran multiple Current attackers to 50/50 balls that she cleared from danger
