US Soccer retained former acting attorney general Sally Q. Yates and King & Spaulding to conduct an independent investigation into allegations of past abusive behavior and sexual misconduct in women’s professional soccer in 2021. Their report, published in 2022, resulted in several NWSL coaches and staff being relieved of their duties and steps being taken to prevent further abuse.
