W-League Recap – Round 3

CHICAGO – After the FIFA international break, the W-League and Chicago Red Star players were back in action this past weekend.

Perth Glory finally found three points in the third week of play defeating the Western Sydney Wanderers 3-0. While fellow American Rachel Hill notched a brace during the match, captain and Red Stars forward Sam Kerr tallied her first goal of the season.

Perth landed in second place in the standings with five points. The Glory will host Melbourne City next weekend.

Yuki Nagasato played her first match with Brisbane Roar, falling short in a 1-0 defeat against Adelaide United. The lone goal came in the 51st minute from the feet of Adelaide’s Veronica Latsko.

The loss dropped the Roar to fifth place, tying Canberra United and Adelaide with four points. Brisbane will enter its first Bye Week in Round 4.

Danielle Colaprico and Sydney FC had an extra break with a bye week and will look to jump back in Round 4 against current table toppers Melbourne Victory.
