CHICAGO – Goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher and forward Yuki Nagasato were named to the National Women’s Soccer League (NWSL) Team of the Month for June. The Red Stars went undefeated in the month of June, earning a 2-0-1 record, outscoring opponents 5-1.
Naeher earned one shutout in a 2-0 victory against Washington, and was conceded just once in a 1-1 draw against Portland. While adding six saves and five clearances, Naeher and the Red Stars earned a 0.33 goals against average during the month.
Nagasato tallied the second goal against Washington on June 2, while grabbing the game-tying goal in the 1-1 draw against Portland. Nagasato was also awarded NWSL Player of the Week during the 10th week of play.
Catch Naeher and Nagasato on Saturday, June 7, when Chicago will take on Sky Blue FC in New Jersey. The match will kick off at 6 p.m. CT, and will be broadcast live on NWSL app and go 90.
