We checked in with forward Ella Masar who left for Copenhagen to compete with B93/HIK/Skjold in late September. Enjoy some photos of her first 2 weeks overseas!

This was taken on my first “exploration” day of Copenhagen. NyHavn, known as “New Harbour” for us Americans, it is absolutely beautiful and probably one of the best places to visit in the city.

It is hard to tell but we are actually sitting in a movie. Yep, it is completely normal to take your shoes off, some socks (yeah I would never), to watch a film in the cinema. ha

My two lovely roommates, the young lady in front is Camilla who is a teammate and her fiancé Jeppe (pronounced Yeppo) is right behind her. It is hard to see but he actually played American Football here. My challenge (that I just set ha) is to make him put on his pads and run routes in the local park …. video to come ha.

Here are some of my new teammates. The reason I had them pose in front of this sign (which is more clear below) is because I could not help and laugh at the difference from American “Swag” to the Danish jk.

To my lovely surprise, I actually have family here in the city. My Uncle’s wife is from here and her parents live about 30 minutes away from me on bike, trust me that is close. Besides the fact that I was sweating from head to toe when I met them, which I am sure creeped them out, they were absolutely lovely and I look forward to seeing them on a weekly basis.

The graffiti around Copenhagen is some of the most amazing pieces of art that I have ever seen. It is everywhere and has so many eye-popping colors. This picture is from one of my favorite spots so far. I go there once a week to practice my touches and juggling aka it’s my little piece of heaven.

This was taken on my second week of exploring. One of my teammates took me all around the city and we got to see the changing of the guard. I tried my hardest to make this one smile but I only got a sentence in Danish and a stiff arm not joking ha.

 Just around the corner from my apartment, this rock climbing wall exists. It is open to the public and no appointment needed. As you can see, Jeppe and I conquered it haha.
