Clinched: 2018

The Chicago Red Stars have clinched a spot in the 2018 NWSL Playoffs with the win over Sky Blue FC on Tuesday night.

The Red Stars head to the postseason for the fourth consecutive season, a record for any United States women’s soccer league. Head Coach Rory Dames, a fixture as the Red Stars head coach, is the only coach to reach the playoffs at least four seasons with the same team all four times.

While Chicago is unaware at this point of who they will be competing against in the semifinal match-up, all four spots are now secured. Along with Chicago, the three other NWSL teams in the playoffs entail North Carolina Courage, Portland Thorns and Seattle Reign FC.
