Chicago Signs Two Players As National Team Replacements

CHICAGO — The Chicago Red Stars have signed two players ahead of Saturday’s match against Utah Royals FC. Midfielders Maddie Pokorny and Lauren Sajewich will join the Red Stars as National Team Replacements.

Pokorny just finished her final season at Saint Louis University where she concluded her career third in shots (230), tied for fourth in starts (80), sixth in goals (24) and games (82). As part of the Red Stars Reserves, Pokorny played in 11 matches and finished with two goals and three assists.

Sajewich, a native of Frankfort, Illinois, played collegiately at TCU from 2013 to 2016. The midfielder played and started in 78 games for Texas Christian and was part of the Red Stars Reserves this past season where she competed in ten games.
