Chicago Signs Ryann Torrero as Goalkeeper Replacement Player

CHICAGO – Chicago Red Stars announced the signing of Ryann Torerro as a Goalkeeper Replacement Player. Torrero will take the place of rookie Emily Boyd, who is away at a family wedding.

After a small stint at Wyoming, Torrero finished her collegiate career at Campbell University in North Carolina, graduating in 2013. She ended her senior year maintaining a 0.80 goal against average, while also saving 84% of shots.

After college, she spent time with Pepperdine University, helping as a Volunteer Assistant for the women’s soccer team.

This will be the first professional call-up for Torrero, being placed on the roster for the match against the Houston Dash on Saturday, May 12. The match will kick off at 7 p.m. CT at Toyota Park.
