Chicago Red Stars Announce 25-Player Preseason Roster

CHICAGO  – The Chicago Red Stars today announced their 25-player National Women’s Soccer League preseason roster. As per league rules, the team was required to pare down its roster to just 25 spots.

Three of the team’s Canadian internationals, Karina LeBlanc, Adriana Leon, and Rachel Quon, arrived to Chicago last night, with Julie Johnston, the 3rd overall pick in the 2014 NWSL College Draft due in to town today.

Entering their second week of training camp, the team kicked off this week with a 10am CT lifting session in Oak Brook, Ill, followed by a 2pm CT training session at the Red Stars official indoor training facility partner, the Darien SportsPlex in Darien, Ill.

Today, the team trains from 9am CT – 11am CT at Darien SportsPlex before a team yoga session at Yoga By Degrees.

The Chicago Red Stars will travel to Fenton, Missouri on Saturday to open their preseason schedule against NWSL Midwest rival FC Kansas City. Kickoff begins at 7pm CT.

The Red Stars open NWSL regular season play on April 19 against Abby Wambach and Western New York Flash in a Toyota Park doubleheader with the Chicago Fire at 5pm CT. For tickets, please visit chicagoredstars.com/tickets or call 773.697.8699.
