Chicago Adds Ryann Torrero to Roster as National Team Replacement

CHICAGO – The Red Stars announced the addition of goalkeeper Ryann Torerro as a National Team Replacement Player ahead of Saturday’s match against the Washington Spirit. Torrero will take the place of U.S. Women’s National Team goalkeeper Alyssa Naeher as she is in camp preparing for international friendlies against China.

After a small stint at Wyoming, Torrero finished her collegiate career at Campbell University in North Carolina, graduating in 2013. She ended her senior year maintaining a 0.80 goal against average, while also saving 84% of shots.

After college, she spent time with Pepperdine University, helping as a Volunteer Assistant for the women’s soccer team.

This will be the second professional call-up for Torrero after taking the place of Emily Boyd on May 12, but did not see the field during the 2-2 draw against the Houston Dash.

The Red Stars will hit the road against the Washington Spirit on Saturday, June 2, in Lifetime’s Game of the Week. The match will kick off at 2:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on Lifetime.
