CHICAGO – The Red Stars will look to turn around their last result with the Pride, as they host Orlando on Saturday, May 26, for Lifetime’s Game of the Week. Kickoff is set for 2:30 p.m. CT and will be broadcast live on Lifetime.

Settling in fifth place with 12 points, Chicago stretched its undefeated streak to three games after a scoreless draw in Seattle. The Red Stars have seen a slew of draws this season, earning six in its first 10 matches – the same number of draws that the Red Stars ended with last season.

Orlando was handed their first home loss on Wednesday, falling 4-3 to the still undefeated North Carolina. Jessica McDonald gave North Carolina the lead into the second half, while much of the action was yet to be seen. During the five-goal second half, Chioma Ubogagu tallied the equalizer. In a matter of eight minutes, Debinha and Sam Mewis gave North Carolina the go-ahead goals, while Alanna Kennedy put the scoreline by one. Rachel Hill tallied the final equalizer, but a last second goal by McDonald kept the Courage undefeated.

Wednesday, May 2, marked the first time in club history that Orlando defeated Chicago. In previous match ups, the Red Stars earned a 4-0-1 record before falling 2-0 at home.

Recently coming off a three-game week, the Red Stars struggled to find many shots on target, only tallying one during the match. Orlando was able to find themselves with six true opportunities on frame, capitalizing on two. Ubogagu scored in the 28th minute to give Orlando the lead into the second half. With the Red Stars trying to find the equalizer, Pride’s Hill notched the only goal in the second half, minutes before the final whistle, sealing the Orlando victory.
